You don't use a computer much for your compositions. What do you use?  Most of the time I use a contact mic and a digital recorder that I take  out and get field recordings. Anything ambient, like machines,  rainstorms, sirens, animals, can be used. Sometimes I'll put it in a  coat pocket and walk through crowds of people talking. It's kind of like  espionage-style recording. But I might record four hours of material  and only get 45 seconds of usable material.
